May 21 2021 ̶ A.W. Chesterton Company, a global leader in equipment sealing and reliability, has opened a production facility in Sweden for compression packing used on pumps and valves. The facility, which will service all of Northern Europe, will provide compression packing in cut lengths (metric) and ready-to-install packing rings, as well as customer specific kits for original equipment manufacturers and Chesterton’s direct service partners.
“Our customers are looking to reduce maintenance time and need ready-to-install products that fit equipment precisely. This new SpeedSeal® Compression Packing service provides them with custom cut packing as quickly as possible,” says Marco Hanzon, VP & Managing Director for EMEA. “When a pump or valve is leaking, there’s no time to lose and little margin of error.”
Based on the customer’s equipment dimensions and application parameters, Chesterton cuts the required packing rings accurately and cleanly for optimal sealing performance. Having a large stock of compression packing in Sweden provides local customers with better packing availability and speed of delivery. If required, packing rings can be shipped in less than 24 hours.
